November 4, 2026 | Nashville, Tennessee
Another day of ups and downs, and another reminder that this journey is about making choices and learning to trust them.
I arrived in Nashville feeling unsettled, questioning my decision to stay in an expensive parking lot near the highway. Eventually, I decided to move and found a simple motel for just $66, with a wonderful shower, breakfast, and a safe parking spot for my Travato right outside my door. Sometimes the simplest solutions turn out to be the best.
The evening was all about music. First, I visited the Listening Room, where four accomplished Nashville songwriters shared their songs and stories. Then I headed to Broadway, where I was overwhelmed by the incredible energy, music, and talent pouring out of seemingly every bar. Touristy? Absolutely. But also exhilarating.
Interestingly, despite being surrounded by people, I spent most of the evening in my own world, simply listening, observing, and taking it all in.
I've been feeling a little distracted from my own music lately, caught up in the logistics of traveling and dealing with my broken guitar. But perhaps that's okay. Not every day needs to be productive. Sometimes the experience itself is enough.
I ended the evening cycling through Nashville, feeling grateful that I'd made the choice to come out and explore. Another reminder that freedom isn't about always making the right decision. It's about having the courage to make a choice, change direction when necessary, and make the most of wherever life takes you.
